Computer Hardware repairs
Whilst we offer a call-out service, it would more desirable if you brought your computer to our premises where we can test it fully with equipment that we don’t always carry in our vehicle and thus achieve a more cost-effective solution to your problem.
Our repair service gives you a chance to rejuvenate your slow-running or non-working computer, resolve power and charging problems, replace a broken laptop screen or keyboard. If you are having trouble getting online, bring your computer to us and we will test its connectivity then carry out any repairs as necessary.
Should the problem prove to be with your connection, we will return the computer to your home or business and get you back on line.
Other repairs carried out include:
- graphics and sound problems
- loose or broken laptop hinges
- CD/DVD reading and/or writing failures
We also perform the following functions:
- Memory upgrades fitted
- Hard drives changed with a data back-up and restore option where possible (we know what is on your computer can be irreplaceable).
Should you need to replace your computer we can transfer your existing documents, photographs, music, videos, emails, etc., to your new one.
Hard disks – whether you want to upgrade your existing hard drive or replace a faulty one we can install and format your new hard drive and transfer any data you need. If you would like computer running faster we could image your hard drive to a solid State Drive ask in the shop for details.
Laptop screens – if your laptop screen is cracked, damaged or just no longer working we can supply and fit a new screen.
RAM Memory upgrades – to improve the performance of your computer or to fix faulty memory chips we can install additional RAM in both laptop and desktop computers.
Power supply units – we test, diagnose and replace faulty power supply units.
DC Jack replacement
Graphics cards – if you want to upgrade your graphics card to improve performance of if your graphics card is faulty we can test and replace your card.
Motherboards – if you have a faulty motherboard we can strip down the components, replace your motherboard and then rebuild your computer. Laptop keyboards – cracked or missing keys can be an annoyance, we can supply and fit a new keyboard.
Computer Software Repairs
Nowadays, unfortunately, it is all too easy to pick up a virus or other malevolent software on your computer. Some of these may look as though they are from official agencies and will demand money be paid online.

Another problem commonly suffered is that your operating system (Windows) can become ’tired’. Both these problems can be cured.
Viruses, etc., can sometimes be removed by scanning and on other occasions will need the operating system be re-installed. With these repairs we offer a back-up and restore option for your documents, photographs, music, videos, emails, etc. The cost for this varies by the amount of data on your computer.
Windows Updates/Upgrades – we can install the latest version of Windows, or re-install your current version and ensure it has all the latest security updates.
Antivirus software – we can install antivirus software on your machine and scan and remove any malicious software or spyware that may be on your computer.
Data recovery – we can recover data from faulty or corrupt hard drives.
Mac OS X Updates – we can install the latest Mac OS X updates for your iMac or MacBook.
Lost password – if you can no longer gain access to your computer as you have forgotten or mislaid the password we can reset it re-enabling you access to your computer.
Email setup – we can setup email accounts and configure email software like Outlook, Thunderbird or Mac Mail.
Data Backup – we can backup your computer's hard disk on a separate drive or setup automated backups for you protecting you against lost data.
